Good morning at MashenkaMashenka opens at 8:00 AM: a large breakfast menu from Igor Grishichevkin. Pearl barley with roast beef, potato waffles with fish, omelette with crab, syrniki. Daily until 12:00 PM.Until now, one could linger late at Mashenka . But now there's a reason to come earlier: Alexander Rappoport's restaurant, starting September 22, will open at 8 AM and launch a large breakfast menu. Igor Grishichevkin has composed it according to the same principle as the main menu: understandable food comes first. A collection of familiar flavours, but in the restaurant version they become much more interesting. That's why pearl barley porridge here is accompanied by roast beef and a soft-boiled egg, while millet porridge is in the spirit of carbonara with beef bacon and black pepper. The menu also includes potato waffles with lightly salted red fish, poached egg and Hollandaise sauce, omelette with Kamchatka crab and red caviar, or with porcini mushrooms and black truffle. And to the omelette, fried eggs or scramble, one can add porcini mushrooms, spinach, Parmesan, mozzarella, sausages and other ingredients. Sweets — also without morning asceticism. The menu now features vanilla syrniki with blackcurrant cream, pancakes with mascarpone, strawberry confit and fresh strawberries. And for those for whom even this is not enough to reconcile with an early rise — pancakes in raspberry pastille exactly like candies, and farm yogurt with granola, cherry jam and miniature rum babas prepared in actual thimbles. Breakfast at Mashenka is served daily from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
