At "Dr. Zhivago," the dessert menu is built around the cultural DNA of a Soviet childhood. Each creation is both an object of nostalgia and a masterful work of confectionery art. The "Nevalyashka" (roly-poly doll) was the first piece in this anthology; now, it is joined by the "Little Horse." While the wooden rocking horse first appeared in Russia in the 18th century as a toy for the nobility, it became a ubiquitous childhood staple during the Soviet era. The body of the "Little Horse" is made from two varieties of chocolate and finished with a red velvet-textured coating. It features a curly mane, a coiled tail, and an ornate saddle. Tucked inside is the star ingredient: a chocolate-covered curd bar with a caramel center. For the Central Children’s Store, this collaboration with "Dr. Zhivago" kicks off the lead-up to its 70th anniversary. Guests who order the "Little Horse" receive a complimentary pair of tickets from the Central Children’s Store for the "Exhibition of Childhood" and the venue’s observation deck. The exhibition showcases items and toys purchased at the store over the years—primarily between the 1950s and 1980s—including early teddy bears, roly-poly dolls, clockwork toys, miniature cars, books, classic cartoons, and much more.
