Mashenka
Modern Russian cuisine restaurant
The restaurant of modern Russian cuisine by Alexander Rappoport. Masha is a modern Russian cuisine without cliches and pretentiousness, comfortable, understandable, for every day, but with a restaurant gloss. The title refers to Nabokov's novella, a story about memory and return. They don't reproduce the past here, but show what Russian culture and tastes can be like today. Modern Russian cuisine at Mashenka is about familiar tastes brought to restaurant precision, without cliches, ostentatious complexity and cliches. This is a kitchen not for experimentation and a special way out, but for life — for every day, understandable, comfortable and at the same time with respect and attention to detail. Chef Igor Grishechkin is one of the most notable chefs of the modern generation, whose cuisine has become the voice of the new Russian gastronomy. Grishechkin's style cannot be confused with anyone else: his dishes are stories with deep cultural overtones, where every texture, product and flavor accent becomes not only a gastronomic impression, but also an emotional experience. He sees the kitchen as a space of dialogue between tradition and the present, between the memory of taste and the modern point of view. In "Masha" he continues this path and shows the Russian cuisine of today.
